Statement of Faith

On Essentials

1. There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity and the characteristics of personality.
2. Jesus Christ is God, the living Word, who became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. Hence, He is perfect Deity and true humanity united in one person forever.
3. He lived a sinless life and voluntarily atoned for the sins of humanity by dying on the cross as their substitute, thus satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone.
4. He rose from the dead in the same body, though glorified, in which He lived and died.
5. He ascended bodily into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God the Father, where He, the only mediator between God and humanity, continually makes intercession for His own.
6. Human beings were originally created in the image of God. They sinned by disobeying God; thus, they were alienated from their Creator. That historic fall brought all people under divine condemnation.
7. Human nature is corrupted, and they are thus totally unable to please God. Every person is in need of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
8. The salvation of human beings is wholly a work of God’s free grace and is not the work, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness or religious ceremony. God imputes His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, and thereby justified
them in His sight.
9. It is the privilege of all who are born again of the Spirit to be assured of their salvation from the very moment in which they trust Christ as their Savior. This assurance is not based upon any kind of human merit, but is produced by the witness of the Holy Spirit, who confirms in the believer the testimony of God in His written word.
10. The Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to humanity. He convicts and draws sinners to Christ, imparts new life to them, continually indwells them from the moment of spiritual birth and seals them until the day of
redemption. His fullness, power and control are appropriated in the believer’s life by faith.
11. Every believer is called to live so in the power of the indwelling Spirit that they will not fulfill the lust of the flesh but will bear fruit to the glory of God.
12. Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, His Body, which is composed of all people, living and dead, who have been joined to Him through saving faith.
13. God admonishes His people to assemble together regularly for worship, for participation in ordinances, for edification through the Scriptures and for mutual encouragement.
14. At physical death the believer enters into eternal, conscious fellowship with the Lord and awaits the resurrection of the body to everlasting glory and blessing.
15. At physical death the unbeliever enters into eternal, conscious separation from the Lord and awaits the resurrection of the body to everlasting judgment and condemnation.
16. Jesus Christ will come again to the earth – personally, visibly and bodily – to consummate history and the eternal plan of God.
17. The Lord Jesus Christ commanded all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to disciple people of every nation. The fulfillment of that Great Commission requires that all worldly and personal ambitions be subordinated to a total commitment to “Him who loved us and gave Himself for us.”

On Eternal Damnation

The doctrine of eternal damnation is clearly articulated in Scripture, where Jesus Himself affirms the eternity of punishment for the unredeemed, contrasting it with the eternal life of the righteous (Matthew 25:46). The Bible unequivocally states that only through acceptance of Jesus Christ as the exclusive path to salvation can one avoid eternal separation from God (Acts 4:12, John 14:6).

On Grace

True grace, as demonstrated by Jesus who embodied both "grace and truth" (John 1:14), encompasses the dual aspects of forgiveness and accountability, contrasting with the distorted hyper-grace teaching that overlooks the essential roles of repentance and confession (1 John 1:9), thus deviating from the holistic counsel of Scripture (2 Timothy 2:15). This balanced understanding acknowledges the transformative power of grace while upholding the biblical call to sincere repentance and confession as integral components of the Christian walk (James 5:16), ensuring fidelity to the comprehensive truth of God's Word (1 John 4:1). While grace is central to salvation, Scripture emphasizes the importance of repentance, confession, and accountability for believers' actions. Therefore every effort needs to be made to avoid minimizing the necessity of repentance and confession of sins.

On Hell

The punishment of the wicked in hell, described in Scripture as eternal torment and destruction, is as enduring as the bliss of the righteous in heaven, affirmed by Jesus Himself (Matthew 25:46), offering a stark reminder of the eternal consequences of rejecting God's salvation (John 3:16, 18, 36).

On Heaven

Heaven, as depicted in Scripture, is promised to believers as their eternal home (John 14:2). Described as a place of divine glory (Revelation 21:11), adorned with precious stones (Revelation 21:19-21), and featuring the river of the water of life and the tree of life (Revelation 22:1-2), its ultimate reality surpasses human description (1 Corinthians 2:9). In heaven, there will be no tears, pain, or sorrow (Revelation 21:4), as believers will enjoy eternal fellowship  with the Lord (1 John 3:2).

On Great Commission

The imperative of the Great Commission, as emphasized in Matthew 28:18-20, is rooted in the profound reality of heaven and hell, motivating believers to share the Gospel tirelessly, understanding that eternal destinies are at stake (Matthew 25:46). As ambassadors of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20), we are compelled to proclaim the good news of salvation, recognizing that without Christ, people face the eternal separation from God described in Revelation 20:15.
